Job Description

Corvus Pharmaceuticals is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focusing on the development of precisely targeted medicines for cancer, immune disorders and infectious diseases. We are seeking a candidate to play an important role in designing and executing key experiments related to our immune-oncology focused portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented biologist to make a significant impact to Corvus programs and to gain experience in multiple aspects of drug development.

Key expectations and skills are outlined below:

  • Performs relevant activities such as mechanistic characterization and biomarker discovery for company’s clinical candidates using advance technical skills like multi-color flow cytometry, Nanostring, and spatial genomics analysis.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams to meet project goals
  • Coordinate team efforts to design, execute and analyze data collected from in vivo studies.
  • Evaluate new technologies, instrumentation, and assays to implement and evolve capabilities.
  • Oversees CRO activities when needed to support preclinical and clinical biomarker/translational studies.
  • Participates in scientific discussions and conception generation for new research approaches
  • Prepares data presentations for internal and external meetings, regulatory filing and publications.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology or related field required
  • 2 or more years of relevant academic or biotech cell culture experience preferred
  • Solid working knowledge of immune cell signaling preferred
  • Hand-on experience with preclinical murine tumor models including syngeneic and/or xenograft models.
  • Experience with functional assays using flow cytometry (surface/intracellular), ELISA, multiplex platforms such as MSD or Luminex.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with scientific attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience with ELISpot, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and organoid based cell culture is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in in vivo bioluminescence and/or fluorescence imaging workflow and data analysis is preferred.
  • Flexibility and willingness to solve problems that fall outside of immediate area of expertise.
